About the Kakadu tour:
Swim in plunge pools under waterfalls in Litchfield National Park
and learn about the Aboriginal Dreamtime from your guide. Explore
the landscape and waterfalls of Kakadu National Park (World Heritage
listed for both its cultural and natural values), travel along rocky
4-wheel drive tracks and search for crocodiles and other wildlife
on our cruise.

Classic: Our original Northern Territory 4WD tours, suitable for
all ages seeking an authentic experience. These tours supply a good
level of comfort with remote permanent camps complete with a choice
of permanent tents or swags under the stars, hot showers, toilets,
beds and sleeping bags. A reasonable level of fitness is required.

DAY 1 (LUNCH / DINNER)
Departing Darwin at 7am, the first stop on your adventure is Ubirr
Rock, one of the main cultural sites within the park. At Ubirr you
can view a wide range of Aboriginal rock art which will be interpreted
by your guide. Here you will learn about the Rainbow Serpent and
climb the Nadab Lookout for excellent views over the surrounding
floodplain and beyond into Arnhem Land. In the afternoon visit the
Warradjan Cultural Centre to learn about the 40,000 years of aboriginal
occupation within the park. Late afternoon enjoy a crocodile cruise
on the Yellow Waters billabong. A must do activity within Kakadu
National Park, the award winning Yellow Waters cruise is Aboriginal
owned and centres around a spectacular billabong system that is
home to some remarkable and diverse wildlife. Spotting crocodiles
is only one of the many wildlife viewing opportunities on this unique
water system. Tonight enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at our
private campsite located at Cooinda.

DAY 2 (BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER)
Today enjoy a half day hike and swim at the beautiful Gubara Springs*
and/or Gunlom Falls*, and walk to the top of the Nawurlandja lookout
with spectacular views over Kakadu. Late afternoon we will drive
to Mount Bundy, close by Litchfield National Park and spend tonight
at our private permanent campsite with your fellow travellers.

DAY 3 (BREAKFAST / LUNCH)
Enjoy the short journey to Litchfield National Park. Explore the
waterfalls, spring-fed streams and rugged sandstone escarpments
of Litchfield. Discover intriguing cathedral and magnetic termite
mounds and swim, hike and explore Florence and Wangi Falls* (water
level dependent) as well as Buley Rockhole. Return to Darwin in
the early evening.

Staying: Standard (Camping with share facilities).
Permanent Campsites - Classic Safaris offer permanent
safari tents (multi-share), with twin beds and swags under the stars
with guests choosing their preferred option whilst on location.
Linen including sheet, pillow, pillowcase, towel and sleeping bag
are included on Classic Safaris. During the tropical summer swags
are not available on all Top End Safaris with tents or budget accommodation
being offered in their place. Adventure Safaris offer swags with
portable tents on request. Sleeping bags can be hired for $30.
You will be sleeping in a swag on the bed.
If you haven't used a swag before, don't worry. Our experienced
guides will show you all you need to know to get one of the best
night's sleep you've ever had! All our equipment is purchased with
quality and durability in mind. Our swags for example are fitted
with Dunlop high density foam mattresses. This mattress is the best
and most comfortable money can buy. We hire out good quality sleeping
bags rated to minus 5° for those cold desert nights; likewise, we
hire out lighter weight summer sleeping bags if required for our
balmy summer evenings.
Our four 15 seat and one 17 seat, 4 litre Intercooled Turbo Mitsubishi
Canters are purpose built with a pod that carries 12 and 14 passengers
respectively with the driver and 2 passengers seated in the cab.
They are fully air conditioned with reclining seats, footrests,
luggage storage area and kitchen space complete with a 100 litre
fridge. They can carry 210 litres of fuel, 120 litres of water and
come with window tinting, bull bars, spot lights and are built for
the bush! Or similar vehicle.
From 1 April 2016 we are now running 4WD vehicles
on our Kakadu trips for both Classic and Adventure products to enable
us to reach more remote spots.
Maximum Walks: Hikes up to 6-8kms per day. A reasonable level of
fitness is required as there will be some walking to view places
of interest. Suitable for soft adventures with a passion for bushwalking
and exploring. Passengers must be fit and active.

Booked and paid E-Ticket, Torch, wide brimmed hat, sunscreen, insect
repellent, water bottle (1.5 litres), walking shoes/boots, sleeping
bag (if you prefer to use your own), toiletries, swim wear, beach
towel, camera, comfortable and casual clothing for 3 days.
Professional guide, travel in an air-conditioned 4WD vehicle, all
meals (as listed on itineraries), camping equipment and fees including
permanent tent with beds and mattress. All linen including pillow
and pillowcase, fitted sheet, sleeping bag hire, towel and drinking
water (please provide your own bottle).
Itinerary may change due to cultural reasons,
seasonal changes, operational logistics and accessibility.
Safari is not suitable for children under 5 years
Twin Falls boat shuttle fee is an additional $12.50
payable on day of departure.
Kakadu National Park entry fee is not included
and is payable direct on day of departure.
Due to limited space on the vehicle please restrict
luggage to one day pack and one soft overnight bag/backpack (maximum
10kg). Excess luggage should be stored at your Darwin accommodation.
*Access to waterfalls during the tropical summer
may not be possible at all locations. Waterfalls possible include
Gunlom, Maguk (Barramundi Falls), Yurmikmik or Gubara Springs.
* Wangi Falls may not be accessible during the
wet season. During this time we will provide an alternative or spend
more time in locations visited.
Travel Insurance is strongly recommended for all
travellers on all tours. Please refer to terms and conditions for
Safaris must be reconfirmed 48 hours prior to
departure to confirm pick-up location and time.by phone direct with
the tour operator - (Details of the tour operator is on your E-Ticket).
Single pricing option offers guest a guaranteed
single permanent tent during the Safari. As we do not always travel
at capacity, some guests may be given a single tent without supplement
on location. No refund is given for those that have paid the single
option in these circumstances. Additionally for those that have
chosen single pricing and choose to sleep in a swag, no refund is
offered for the single pricing paid.
Special Dietary requirements and allergies
Our menu is designed for both carnivores and vegetarians. If you
are have any special dietary needs or allergies, please contact
us to discuss this at time of booking as you may need to provide
your own supplementary food/ snacks depending on your specific dietary
need or allergy.
Wayoutback Australian Safaris operates in some remote parts of
Australia where certain foods are not easily available and therefore
cannot accommodate all dietary requests. At times, produce and products
may be substituted as supply dictates and Wayoutback cannot guarantee
the ingredients contained in these alternatives. Whilst all of our
guides are trained in remote touring, they are not nutritionists
and neither they nor Wayoutback Australian Safaris can advise of
all ingredients contained in each food served on tour and are not
responsible should an allergic reaction occur.
